lumi. Cookie Policy — plain-English explanation of the limited cookies and local storage lumi. uses.

lumi.
Cookie policy
Last updated: May 2026  ·  Private beta
lumi. uses cookies and local storage only for what's strictly necessary to keep you logged in and remember your preferences. No advertising cookies. No tracking. No analytics. This is a short policy because there isn't much to say.
1 — What are cookies

Cookies are small pieces of data stored in your browser when you visit a website or use a web app. They're commonly used for login sessions, preferences, and tracking. lumi. uses them only for the first two.

2 — What lumi. uses

lumi. uses two types of browser storage: cookies and local storage. Both are strictly functional — they exist to make the app work, not to collect data about you.

Name Type Set by Purpose
Session token Cookie Clerk Keeps you logged in. Expires when your session ends or after a set period of inactivity. Without this, you would need to log in every time you open the app.
Auth state Local storage Clerk Stores your authentication state locally so the app can load quickly without an unnecessary round-trip to the server on each visit.
UI preferences Local storage lumi. Remembers small in-app preferences — for example, which tab you last had open on the goal detail screen. No personal data is stored here; only interface state.
The Clerk session cookie is set by Clerk's authentication service, which lumi. uses to manage login and account security. Clerk's own cookie documentation is available at clerk.com/legal/privacy.

3 — What lumi. does not use

lumi. does not use:

  • Advertising or marketing cookies
  • Analytics cookies (no Google Analytics, Mixpanel, or similar)
  • Third-party tracking cookies
  • Fingerprinting or cross-site tracking of any kind

4 — Your choices

The cookies and local storage lumi. uses are strictly necessary for the app to function. If you block or clear them, lumi. will not work correctly — you will be logged out and will need to sign in again.

Because lumi. uses only functional storage, no cookie consent banner is shown. There is nothing optional to accept or decline. If you wish to clear your session data at any time, you can do so through your browser's settings or by signing out of lumi. from the Settings page.

5 — Changes to this policy

If lumi. ever introduces any new cookies or storage — for example, if analytics were added in a future version — this policy will be updated and you will be notified. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update.
